Persona Story

Andrew’s story begins in a small Noble family's residence in the east of England in the mid 1300’s. He was born in 1344 to a young Mother and Father with a small standing residence and a little land. They lived along with his grandmother on his Mother’s side, whom he affectionately knew as “Nanna”. At the age of 5 Andrew’s brother, Tyler, was born. It was a turbulent time for the family; Andrew’s father had been called away to fight in what is now known as the 100 years war, and had been sent away to the south of France only 6 months after Tyler's birth. Shortly thereafter Andrew’s mother received word that her husband was dead, not killed in action, but taken by the black death that was sweeping Europe. Andrew was amiss, and became a bit of a troubled child. His never-ending reserve of energy and curiosity began to get him in more and more trouble. His lack of a male role model became apparent and at the age of 6, despite his mothers wishes, Nanna began to let him train with the soldiers as an outlet for his energy and aggression. His curiosity about the world still seemed insatiable, but at least he wasn’t breaking things about the house anymore.

By the age of 8, Andrew had learned to read, taught by Nanna herself. The two had grown close in the past years, but his mother became distant, brooding on the loss of her husband. He trained 3 times a week with the local solders and was taught to ride a horse. Now free to roam about as he pleased, Andrew started to get into more trouble than ever, though no one of importance ever found out. Later that year, his mother would pass away, “grief” Nanna told him was the cause. Andrew felt something move inside him. He decided that he must become the man of the house, and take care of his brother and Nanna, the way she had done for him.

In 1358 – the final tragedy struck Andrew and his brother. Andrew had just barely turned 14 and his brother was well on 9 when their town was raided. The two boys were out riding through the woods, and were thankfully spared the horror. They were told by the few remaining alive that the soldiers that had ransacked the town were French but that was all they knew. Nanna, old as she was, did not survive the night.

Heartbroken and filled with more rage than he had ever know, Andrew abandoned his home. What little his family had left, he inherited, but sold or gave away. In his heart he believed that the things the soldiers had taught him meant nothing, because they had not been able to protect what he loved most, and in his head he blamed France for everything. He had lost his Father to their filth, his Mother to the grief they caused, and his beloved Nanna to their greed.

After that, Andrew and his brother disappeared for some time.

At 19 he finally re appears. Taking advantage of the chaos of the times, and looking to help those in the same position as he, Andrew has become far more of a troublemaker than anyone ever anticipated. He had been traveling about all of Europe, learning wherever he could, and had taught himself how to use a sword by practicing with whatever army he could find, small or large, they had all been fairly kind….at least most of them had. Even though he burned with a hatred of the French, he learned to speak their language, knowing it would do him good on his quest. Using a combination of his cunning and charisma, Andrew started to form a small group of soldiers, mostly prior mercenaries like him self. The Nobles finally began to take notice, and were reluctant to let Andrew continue what he was doing, but when time and again he helped defend England against the French raids, they dared not loose his resourcefulness.

Now, 21, Andrew leads the Band of the Hawk , fightitng in and for Sanctus Azathoth.
